Special Student - Admissions Procedures
| A special or visiting student is defined as a student that is currently enrolled at another college and wants to take courses at Wake Tech to transfer back to their home institution, a student that needs to take a few pre-requisite courses to enter a program at another college or university, or a student taking a course(s) for personal interest. | |
| Step 1: | Complete an online Wake Technical Community College Application for Admission. Your program of study would be “Special Student”, the code for special students is T90990. |
| Step 2: | Submit transcripts (official or unofficial transcripts are acceptable for Special Students only) from all colleges you have attended. You can download and complete the Request for Transcript form Current and/or subsequent reqistrations may be blocked if course prerequisite and/or corequisite equivalent courses are not on file. In lieu of college transcripts, you may opt to take the college’s placement test to determine appropriate placement into certain courses. You can schedule and prepare for your placement test at the Testing Center website. Please send official transcripts to this address: |
| Step 3: | If registering for a course with a Wake Tech pre-requisite, it is required that you complete the Special Student Pre-requisite Approval Form (below) and provide un-official transcripts for verification.

| Step 4: | Register and pay for classes. After meeting with your advisor, you will be able to set up your student account at my.waketech.edu and register and pay for courses via WebAdvisor. You may access our registration guide for instructions about how to use Webadvisor to register for classes, and access our registration flyers for registration dates and payment deadlines. Failure to pay tuition and fees by your payment deadline will result in the deletion of your courses. |
